Practicum

We have offered theoretical trainings and workshops aimed at Quality Improvement.

Now, SQHN brings the practical training down to your facilities through PRACTICUM.

Practicum is practical, on-site training that allows members of staff of an organisation to observe and document how Quality Improvement advisors perform QI activities.

“BENEFITS?”

  • It is an avenue for preparing organisations for quality improvement journey and accreditation.
  • It is a valuable tool for visual, practical and action based learning.
  • It will afford staff opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and practice their skills in real world settings.
  • It will prepare all staff for the realities of Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety.

“WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT?”

  • The practicum would include;
  • Baseline assessment of the organisation.
  • Shadowing one or more QI advisors who will guide the on-site experience.
  • Observing and correlating practices in the field with theories and methods previously learned.
  • Focusing on independent application of skills, and knowledge of standards in the organisation.
  • Recording and reporting of data or assisting with tasks as directed by on-site QI advisor.
  • Completing practicum assignments and executing action plans within a specified period.
  • Both clinical and non-clinical staff
